Borneo Dental Centre was the official sponsor of Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan State Level in 2022 and 2024, celebrating Sabah's Kadazandusun, Murut, and Rungus heritage during the Kaamatan Harvest Festival.
At Borneo Dental Centre, we believe that being part of Kota Kinabalu means more than just treating smiles, it means showing up for the community and culture that make Sabah what it is. That’s why we were proud to serve as the official sponsor of Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan (State Level) in both 2022 and 2024.
What is Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan?
Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan, formerly known as Buvazoi Tavantang, is a cultural pageant for young Sabahan men, held as a mandatory event as part of the annual Kaamatan (Harvest Festival) celebrations. The competition highlights the unique heritage, customs, and traditional attire of the Kadazandusun, Murut, and Rungus (KDMR) communities.
The word “Randawi” reflects the spirit of a young man who is not only physically strong, but also rich in cultural values and love for his people’s heritage. The event serves as a platform to shape young leaders, and stands as the male counterpart to the well-known Unduk Ngadau competition for women.
The competition runs from district level all the way to the State level, held at Dewan Hongkod Koisaan in Penampang.
